Tonic Careers is a recruitment agency and recruitment business as defined in the Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003. We have offices based in London and Manchester. To commence our business we need to collect data from the following:

  • Candidates for permanent and contract roles (Prospective and placed candidates)
  • Clients (Prospective and live)
  • Employees


  1. What personal data does Tonic Careers collect?

Tonic collects and processes personal information to enable us to provide advice and professional services as an employment agency. To complete this we may need to collect the following:

  • Personal contact details
  • Links to your professional profiles
  • Education and employment details

When registering as a candidate we may ask you for your:

  • Full name and contact details
  • Location/home address
  • Your most recent CV
  • Links to your professional profile
  • Relevant education, industry qualifications and employer references
  • Your availability to work
  • Your proof of the right to work in the UK


  1. How long will we keep your data? 

We understand our legal duty to retain accurate data and only retain personal data for as long as we need it for our legitimate business interest. We have a data retention policy which requires us to run data routines to remove data that we no longer have legitimate business interest in maintaining. Tonic will keep your personal data for 5 years from the date of the last contact as this is determined on the basis that 5 years is considered to be the average length individuals are employed. For the purpose of creating an opt-out suppression file, we may minimise the amount of data we hold down to name and email address to ensure that we do not re-enter your details into our system.

We use cookies to track the user of our website. This enables us to understand our users, move around the site and track any patterns from larger groups. This enables us to develop and improve our website and services in response to our users wants and needs. These cookies are ‘Session cookies’ which means they are only stored on your device during your web session and are automatically deleted when you close your browser – they usually store an anonymous session ID allowing you to browse a website without having to log into each page but they do not collect any information from your device.
