Unique opportunity to join the modular housing division of a FTSE 100 company which has the vision to revolutionise the industry while improving society. The company is focusing on creating sustainable and people-centred communities at scale – they invested in Europe’s largest modular factory with capacity to produce over 3,000 homes per year from this first factory.
There is a strong pipeline of developments yet it’s still relatively early in the division’s history so it’s a great time to join and help shape the development team as it grows quickly. You will be joining a diverse multi-disciplinary team that carries out end to end developments with backgrounds ranging from housebuilding to aerospace.
The Development Engineer will be a typical engineering role for housebuilding projects and is home based with 1-2 days travel per week. This will involve managing the engineering aspects for multiple sites through the design and construction stages. You will work closely with various internal teams as well as managing external consultants and contractors.
Key responsibilities include reviewing technical designs and information for new sites; site visits; procuring engineering designs and surveys; reviewing and value engineering designs; coordinating with local authorities; overseeing sections agreements; chairing pre-start, design and site meetings; directing the work of junior staff; and forming a key link between design and construction.
