Job Description

Exciting opportunity to join a FTSE 100 company on a pioneering venture within the UK manufacturing industry. The position is based at a state-of-the-art modular housing factory, the largest of its kind in Europe, which has capacity to manufacture 3,500 homes per year.

Data is pivotal to scaling the business to become the market leader. The company is currently implementing the PLM system Teamcenter which will be integrated with an ERP (IFS) and will handle everything from front end design through to manufacturing.

The role holder is accountable for the definition and development of data standards, rules, tools and processes across product development and project delivery. They will also lead a structured continuous improvement plan across all discipline areas initially within design (circa 50 people) before rolling out across the full business (400+) encompassing manufacturing and construction.

The position will have a good deal of autonomy to make decisions and shape the strategy. The senior leadership team has a positive attitude towards data and there is openness to using it more effectively across the business. Since modular housing is an emerging industry, it will be important to be up to date with market trends and share intelligence with internal functions such as quality and IT.

* 10 years of experience in manufacturing with a preference for high volume industries such as automotive and aerospace

* Experience with PLMs: Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill, Dassault Enovia or Oracle

* Leadership experience of transformational change projects

* Continuous improvement mindset with a practical approach to achieving measured gains, preference for experience in Six Sigma/Lean methods

* Strong leadership skills with ability to explain technical concepts in a simple to understand manor

This is an opportunity for a manufacturing professional to work at the cross section of manufacturing and construction within a diverse team, in a venture that aims to revolutionise the housing industry using innovative and sustainable methods.

The company has high investment, rapid growth and a long-term approach. In addition, there is a focus on employee development and training with structured career progression and excellent benefits.
