Known in the industry as a Construction Cost Consultant or Commercial Manager, their role is to keep a close eye on project finances and contractual relationships.

With a limited pool of candidates available at this level, it has proven very difficult for employers to attract suitable candidates. There is also a growing demand for quantity surveyors' skills from other industries, leading to further shortages.
